A Hike Through Geologic Time

Hike with Utah State University Geologist Colter Davis up the Kanab Trail and through the geologic time of the Kanab Utah area, stopping at various locations along the trail to learn about rock formations, their geologic ages, depositional environments, and the organisms that once lived here. At a scenic overlook Colter will discuss the geomorphology of the area over the last several hundred years. This two-mile out and back hike is easy to moderate with excellent views. Wear a hat and appropriate footwear. Bring a snack and plenty of water.

Location: Meet at the trailhead for the Kanab Trail (formerly Squaw Trail), located at the north end of 100 East in Kanab.
