Who has not gasped in wonder looking up into the inky blackness of a sky scattered thick with stars? To facilitate that experience, the Bureau of Land Management, Kanab Field Office, is in the process of identifying a specific location expressly for the purpose of stargazing; a first of its kind on federal lands in Utah!

Learn about local initiatives to enhance appreciation and comprehension for the value of natural darkness and to protect the visibility of the stars. Get an update on southern Utah’s newest astronomical observatory being built in Kanab! Gaze at wispy nebulae, star clusters, distant planets and galaxies through an astronomical quality telescope. Space music performed live by Classical Guitarist Julian Harmon will add a special dimension to the occasion!

Location: TBD
