Amazing Earthfest

Scout Wilkins is a lifelong explorer, naturalist and guide who has led kind of a crazy life, doing an amazing number of very different things. Guide, ecologist, tree hugger, logger, artist, carpenter, executive director, vice president, ranch hand, adjunct professor…and now game developer.

Scout sees the river that connects the disparate parts of her life as this: 

A steady, strong and growing desire to get better and better at being a human moving through the world. 

She also sees this in the people she meets - in fact, she has come to realize that, contrary to what she used to think, her life has shown her, over and over again, that almost all people want that same thing. 

To be good people together, to belong and be part of something cool, getting along and working together to make cool things happen.

Over the last four years she has been devoting her life to shepherding a new technology, a game or tool called WordTrails, which gives people a chance to try this idea out, and see for themselves what happens. She’ll be bringing this to the library for Earthfest.
